SAFLD2 Wolfe Tones 2-3 O’Donnells 1-8

Wolfe Tones and O’Donnell’s made a return to competitive action in South Antrim this evening in stinking conditions at Jordanstown. Both teams struggled with the weather with O’Donnell’s hitting half a dozen wides before the first water break but still went in 3 points to the good at 0-5 to 0-2.

That lead quickly evaporated early in the second half when former Cross Rangers clubman Gavin Cumiskey hit the back of the net to square things up. O’Ds managed to claw their lead back as the rain refused to give up and Mark Close also found the goal for the visitors.

A closer game in the second half, Tones forward Kevin Kennedy kept the Greencastle outfit within touch of O’Ds but the clock finally ran down for the North Belfast men and the points on the night went back to the Whiterock Road with
O’Donnell’s running out winners 1-8 to 2-3
